Max temperature for AMD Turion II Ultra dual core processor?
What's the max safe temperature for a AMD Turion II Ultra dual core mobile M600 cpu? Idle, it hovers around 52C and under intense game stress has hit as high 85C, but the average is around 81C. At what point should I worry about overheating and would my HP laptop automatically alert me and shut itself down to prevent damage?
The Core 2 Duo in my laptop gets up to 90 degrees without issue and I've had it since 2007. For optimal lifespan, I would keep i under 75 if you can.
You can get a notebook cooler (you will want the kind with fans) to cool it off a little.

Also try to clean out the vents if you can (use a vacuum hose to suck it out, if you blow compressed air into the vent its only going to push dust deeper inside)
If it got to the critical temperature (the core 2 duo's is 105C) it would shut down automatically.
