whats wrong with my anoles?

i just got 2 anoles (green) and its bin about 3 day and they don't move much, this morning my mom thought one was dead because it wasn't moving when i misted them. the temp with the heat lamp on is at 80 and with it off its at 70 - 75. and they move a bit more when at 70 75 but i cant keep the heat lamp off all the time, what should i do?

p.s. i don't have my humidity reader yet so i don't know how humid it is, think that has something to do with it?

my anoles are about 1 month old.
i have a 20 gallon tank and i feed them crickets and i feed the crickets vitamins so when the anoles eat them they get the vitamins. i just put the crickets in and let run free but when they are all gone i will be feeding them one by one.

Do you have a UVB light? This will be a separate bulb along with the heat lamp (unless you are using a MVB, mercury vapor bulb, but anole enclosures are too small for them.) Anoles need UVB and a basking temp of 90 F, so 80 F is not enough. I highly recommend that you do not use coiled/compact UVB bulbs; they are documented causing severe eye damage and/or blindness in reptiles, not to mention they have trouble maintaining UVB out put over time.

Do you have about 10 gallons of tank space per anole (you'd need a 20 gallon for 2)? Having enough space for the anoles to have some territory is important, and it is easier to create a temperature gradient (warmer on one side and progressively cooler on the other) in a larger enclosure than a smaller one.

The humidity should be about 60 - 70%; a hygrometer will tell you if you have it right.

If you answered "no" or "I don't know" to any of these questions, then you need to change that answer to a yes. All this stuff is part of anole keeping.
