What was this movie called? Please Help!?

i had 2 watch this really boring movie in band. it was like a musical Romeo Juliet type thing, probally made in like the 50s. its about these 2 gangs, the jets, and the sharks i think. they hate each other. 1 of the guys sister from the sharks and 1 guy from the jets fall in love and their love is forbidden and all that crap. romeo juliet type thing. any 1 no wat this movie is called? thx 4 any help i mite get!

My dad read this and said it sounds like a musical called "West Side Story".
