I have an Olmypus Evolt E-500 and during every focus mode accept manual, my camera flashes as I focus it (holding button down half-way). Is there anyway to turn this off and what exactly is this event called in a camera?
Does anyone know how to turn this off on my Evolt E-500?
The flash strobe helps the camera focus in low light situations. To turn this feature off, navigate to Setup menu 1 (Spanner 1) and set "AF Illuminator" to "OFF".
Note: you may notice a decrease in AF performance in low light situations. AF operation can be improved if you manually focus the lens close to your subject beforehand.
