Is the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter still in business?
Or did NASA crash it on the moon?
Recently I asked a question dealing with getting a visual sighting on the Apollo landers to quell discussion about the manned moon missions being faked and the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter was brought into the discussion.
Is the LRO still in lunar orbit? or is that the thing NASA bombed the moon with?
A Friend of mine has a electronic fish aquarium that lights up and computer image fish swim by creating a real nice peaceful environment.
The fish, water and bubbling sounds are fake. Personally I like REAL things. It would really be super cool if NASA broadcast on a cable channel an ongoing scene of the moon's surface gliding by as the LRO passed over it accompanied by an audio track of sounds of Jupiter and Mars.
Just imagine!
The moon continually orbiting changing it's phase while the LRO beams it to Earth and we get to watch the backside that we never see.
Man! That would be so cool!
It's still orbiting and providing very valuable data.
The one that bombed the Moon was called LCROSS (Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite).
LRO cannot send video, but there was a Japanese orbiter that filmed quite a few spectacular scenes:
