what should i look for for an hd projector under 2500?

my uncle is looking for a 1080p projector. what ansi lumens should i look for and contrast ratio. i'm considering showing him this:

The projector at the link you provided is well regarded, but buying on one or two specs is the wrong way round. You should buy based on what projector best meets your uncle's needs.

There are differences in all 1080p projectors that may or may not be important to different users. For example more brightness may be essential under some conditions, but a disadvantage under others. And while higher contrast ratio is almost always worthwhile, past a cetain point, other things may be more important.

I suggest looking at the info at the first 2 links, and defining your uncles needs in terms of how big the room will be, whether there is good light control, screen size and shape, etc. The third link with help with screen/viewing distance decisions ... along with the "calculator" provided for each projector at the 2nd link.

His preferences re mounting flexibility, price, local support ... and the whole range of inevitable tradeoffs can then be factored into the decision.
